In addition to an impressive list of standard amenities, Newmark includes one of the most extensive energy and resource efficiency programs in the nation. Most Newmark homes offer R-30 Owens Corning insulation in the attic and PINK™ fiberglass insulation in the walls. High-efficiency Rheem heating and cooling systems, Honeywell programmable thermostats, continuous soffit and ridge venting, Dow STYROFOAM® brand sheathing, double-paned insulated high-performance low-E windows, and weatherization measures including TechShield, a radiant barrier, are also some of the elements we employ to create an energy-efficient system.

In recognition of our focus on energy efficiency, Newmark has achieved one of the highest honors the home-building industry offers: silver and gold EnergyValue Housing Awards, presented by the U.S. Department of Energy in conjunction with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Professional Builder magazine and the NAHB Research Center, a non-profit subsidiary of the National Association of Home Builders.

Winner of more than 500 national, regional and local awards for energy efficiency, design, construction, sales and marketing, Newmark swept the Texas Association of Builders' Star Awards to receive its "Grand Award" three years running, from 1996-1998, and again in 2000. In 2000, Newmark and Fedrick, Harris received two silver awards and six regional awards at the National Sales and Marketing Awards, also known as "The Nationals." Also in 2000, Newmark was recognized as the Greater Houston Builders Association's "Builder of the Year." In 2001, Newmark was honored as the Texas Capitol Area Builders Association's "Grand Builder of Year" for the third time in four years.
